The original Semmelweis Syndrome, recently re-occurred when Drs Warren & Marshall

proved conclusively that majority of stomach ulcers were caused by a bacteria

and could be cured within a few days treatment using approved, inexpensive off-the-shelf anti-biotics, eliminating the use of life-long treatment on drugs and/or surgery.

Their proven findings were ignored for 10 years. Eventually both doctors shared the Nobel Prize. Semmeweis was not so fortunate.
